"Fight!! Dai Sentai Goggle Five!"

The Dark Science Empire Deathdark launches its scheme for world conquest from their Wolfborg Castle in Germany. Doctor Hongou, founder of the Future Science Laboratory, is saved from one of their attacks by world class explorer Ken'ichi Akama. Using his Comboyputer, Hongou recruits five people, including Akama, to form the Great Squadron Goggle V (Goggle 5), the only force capable of stopping Deathdark.

The first sentai series in which Hirohisa Soda is made the chief writer. He stayed on as chief writer for sentai until 90's Fiveman and is believed, by many fans, to have been the one to raise the bar on sentai and raising its stories to appeal to older viewers, as well. Goggle Five was the last Super Sentai to use cloth-oriented suits. Starting with the next series Dynaman, The suits would be made of materials used in making Diving suits, or any similar water proof material

Sanpei Godai, the actor who played Goggle Yellow, also played Noboru Ooyama/Gold-Stealth Captor 5 in Ninja Captor. Junichi Haruta who played Kanpei Kuroda/Goggle black also played Ryuu Hoshikawa/DynaBlack in the next series Kagaku Sentai Dynaman. Goggle V was the most-watched Super Sentai series in Japan as of 2006.
